In 1991, the Lord began to birth a vision in Dawn Gilmer for
"His Company International". Dawn knew by the spirit that she was not to hold
auditions for dancers, but that the Lord would bring them and that He did.
Dawn and Annette Prince began to pray and ask the Lord to send dancers.
One night, an "His Company" board member had a dream
that a new dancer was coming to dance with us. In the dream, the dancer was moving to
Houston from California and was coming to marry a basketball player. Five months after the
dream, April Jamerson moved from California to Houston to marry basketball player, Dave
Jamerson from the Houston Rockets.
Annette had been praying for Linda Dena, a college friend that she had danced
with. Linda was somewhere in New York pursuing a dance career when the Holy Spirit drew
her to Houston. Six months after we began to pray for her, she called and moved to Houston
to join our group.
The Lord also brought Anna Valle to "His Company". Anna and Dawn had
met nine months earlier at a praise and worship conference and had not seen each other
since. When the Lord began the work of "His Company International", Dawn was
prompted to call Anna to help begin the first phase His Company International.
For the past six years, the Lord has molded the hearts of these dancers
together and they have ministered throughout the world. In recent years the Lord has led
some of the dancers into leadership positions in other areas throughout the body of
Christ. He is now bringing in new dancers who are being trained to take the gospel
throughout the earth with the dance. "His Company International" rehearses at
the Christian Dance Center, a local Houston dance training center, devoted to raising up
skillful dancers in the body of Christ.
